Transcribing these documents helps by creating text that can be more easily read and shared.

Before you transcribe we ask you to create an account and login.  This is so we can store each person’s work and recover earlier versions if we need to.

The window on the left shows the document.  You can zoom in and out to see the text more easily using the buttons on the left, and you can move the image around by dragging it.

Remember to save your transcription using the ‘submit’. button at the bottom of the transcription box.  You do not have to complete a page to submit it – you can save at any time.

If you see text you think is inappropriate or offensive you can let us know by using the ‘report’ button.  This allows us to address any issues quickly.

We have created some terms and conditions that govern transcriptions and other material submitted to this site so it is clear what we and you can do.
